Congratulations to the 2025 SPWHL Playoff Champions!! A great end to a great season!

The SPWHL U11 Selects Steelers capped off their first season playing as part of an NOHA pilot project for Select teams in Northern Ontario by winning the Ajax Pickering Spring Thaw tournament on Sunday. After a 1-3 record in the round robin the team rallied to win a do-or-die game against the Ajax Pickering Raiders (2-1) to clinch a fourth-seed in the semi-finals.  With a renewed energy and determination to win, the Steelers battled the undefeated North Bay Trappers in the semis to a lopsided victory of 5-2.

On Thursday April 3rd the U8 Tier 1 had their first organized banquet.  Teams got together to celebrate a year of hard work and dedication to the sport of hockey.  Parents/ guardians, grandparents and siblings all had the opportunity to attend to celebrate with each player.  

As we wrap up another awesome season, I just want to thank everyone. Whether we were celebrating wins or pushing through tough losses in tough games, each player has made this season great and one to remember. From the early mornings ice times to the thrilling moments late in the evening, it’s been a true privilege to be part of this and this year’s success. Congratulations to this year's regular season champions!
