The SPWHL U13 OK Tire Selects team made the most of their very first tournament appearance winning the Barrie HL Select Tournament! Rolling through their round robin games, the Selects defeated the Barrie Colts (10-2), Caledonia Thunder (5-1) and Scarborough Ice Raiders (6-3).  The Selects single round robin loss came at the hands of the Collingwood Blues (6-2).   Sunday's semis and finals were nail biters with both games going to OVERTIME! Beginning this coming season American players will need an approved USA Transfer before they will be allowed to register with the SPWHL or SMHA. Congratulations to the U13A Winmar Wild.  The Wild were undefeated in Ann Arbour, MI and are Big Thaw Tournament champions! With wins over the Canton Wolves (5-1) and Jackson Melling (9-4) and tying the Livonia Kights (2-2) the Wild rolled into the championship game finishing tops in their division. A rematch against Jackson Melling in the championship game saw the Wild playing tight defence and earning a shut out 4-0 win! Way to go U13A Winmar Wild!!  Congrats!!

The U13HL Northside Volkswagen Sandstorm went 5-0-1 and brought home the gold at the Sudbury House League Classic held Feb. 21-25 in the Nickel City. The Sandstorm rolled through the round robin going undefeated with 3 wins and a tie.  A 3-2 semi final win against the Laurentian Chrysler Hellcats set the stage for an exciting final tilt with Sudbury Pro Portes.  In the Championship game the  Northside Volkswagen team skated hard, earning a 5-3 win and the gold medal!    Congrats Northside Volkswagen Sandstorm!!
