What started as a weekend of tough competition turned into a golden celebration of grit, growth, and heart.
The U9T1 LBMX team opened the tournament with a hard-fought 4–4 battle against the London Bandits — a game that set the tone for the intensity ahead. A narrow 6–5 loss to the Kitchener Rangers followed, a reminder that tournaments aren’t won without adversity. But that setback sparked something.
From there, the momentum shifted. A commanding 3–0 shutout over the Leaside Flames showed their defensive strength. Then came an explosive 9–1 statement win against the West London Hawks — a game where everything clicked: speed, puck movement, and relentless pressure.
By the time LBMX met the London Bandits again in the semifinals, they were a different team. A decisive 7–3 victory and a ticket to the finals.
The championship game against the Stratford Warriors was everything a final should be — fast, physical, and fiercely competitive. With the score tight and the pressure high, the LBMX team dug deep and battled to a thrilling 3–2 win.
Congrats LBMX!!
