About the Soo Pee Wee Hockey League
The Soo Pee Wee Hockey League (SPWHL) has been operating within the community of Sault Ste. Marie for over 50 years and is a proud member of the Northern Ontario Hockey Association. Over that time, the SPWHL has assisted in the development of thousands of young men and women who understand the value of teamwork and community.
The SPWHL currently provides a complete hockey program with over 1,000 members that participate in House Leagues from U5 (four-year olds) to U13 and Representative Teams that compete in the “A” categories. We are committed to creating programs that are challenging and fun for the youth of our community. We recognize the impact we have and the role we play in providing a fun and safe environment for kids to develop life skills, such as hard work, commitment and teamwork. This remains our main focus and a point of pride.

Without team sponsors, the cost of playing minor hockey would be much higher and might not be affordable for everyone.
With over 60 teams, 1,000 players and 2,000 immediate family members, all from your community, we represent a significant targeted demographic. Our comprehensive website gets significant daily traffic and your link can be on it. We also have a very strong Facebook following and a growing Instagram presence. Both offering an excellent opportunity for additional exposure.
Soo Pee Wee Community First Arena is filled with players, parents, siblings, grandparents and hockey fans from SPWHL Hockey and visiting associations, seven days a week. We actively encourage our membership to support our sponsors.
HOW DOES YOUR SPONSORSHIP HELP?
- Ensures players of all ages and abilities are provided with opportunities to excel.
- Fosters community involvement and partnership.
- Allows the SPWHL to host player and coach skill development clinics.
- Supports the day to day operation of our minor hockey association.
- Provides funding for the purchase of jerseys and hockey equipment.
A team sponsorship of $1,500 covers the cost of a team set of jerseys and socks as well as the screening of your company’s logo on the front of the jersey, individual player numbers on the back and the mandatory SPWHL logo and stop sign. Team sponsorship also includes website advertising and possible team apparel branding. When comparing the cost of other marketing outlets like print, television and billboard advertising, SPWHL Hockey sponsorships are a great value and a smart option to include into the marketing mix.
