Cabin Fever Tournament
BIG CONGRATULATIONS to our U13 Floreani O'Toole Dool "Phoenix" on an amazing tournament weekend in Sault Ste Marie, Michigan who won Silver.

Our team participated in the Cabin Fever Tournament starting on Friday, January 16th 2026 in Sault Ste Marie, MI in the 12U division.

Our Floreani Phoenix came out swinging with an huge 6-1 win over the St. Ignace Saints in their first round robin game of the weekend. Excellent team work and an impressive 4 goals put up by Carter Porter-Wilson, followed by a goal from both Tomas Marsh, and Sawyer Gallant, assists awarded to; (AP) Kaesen Theberge, Gallant, and Goalie Carson Crosby.

Game 2 came on Saturday, January 17th at 9am, where our Phoenix fell to a hard 9-2 loss against the Marquette County Title team.  With goals scored by Marsh and Porter-Wilson, assisted by Logan Brooks. It was a frustrating loss for the team, who was slightly intimidated by Marquettes 15-0 win against another team the day before.

Feeling the frustration going into game 3 at 3:45pm Saturday, Phoenix used it to come together and work even harder, pulling out an extremely impressive 6-3 win over the KVHA Generals.  Another hat trick by Porter-Wilson, as well as goals from Gallant, Jax Van Camp and (AP) James Vair.  Assisted awarded to; Karter King, Porter-Wilson, Camden Wardell, Ethan Blatter and Vair.  Working hard to obtain a 3-0 lead to start, before quickly realizing they could not take a single shift easy as they scored 3 goals to tie it up in the last 3 minutes of the second.  Going into the third, Phoenix kicked it into high gear and pulled out the last 3 goals ignoring the rude comments and remaining calm through the rough play of the apposing team, putting them firmly into the semi finals.

Semi Finals began Sunday, January 18th at 9am, Where the Phoenix again kicked it into high gear and played the best game of the entire tournament.  Phoenix Won with a 5-3 over the Copper Country Jr. Huskies UPWard Orthodontics, with an impressive Hat Trick by Gallant, as well as goals by Porter-Wilson and Marsh, Assists awarded to Van Camp, propelling them in the Finals. This was a tournament upset according to other teams coaches, as the Jr Huskies have an extremely impressive record this season and won their Round Robin games 11-0, 11-1 and 7-0.

After a valiant effort and hard fought battle to the bitter end in the finals, Phoenix fell to a 3-1 loss against the previously played Marquette County Title team, earning a silver medal as a Pee Wee division Cabin Fever Finalist.

The entire team played extremely hard the entire weekend, with great defensive plays by Henry Simpson, Wyatt Maitland, Alex Callon, Blatter, Wardell and Marsh, as well as amazing offensive plays by Chase Manchester, King, Porter-Wilson, Van Camp, Gallant, Brooks, Theberge and Vair.  Phoenix had the unstoppable Carson Crosby tending the crease, making an astonishing number of incredible saves all weekend.  He remained incredible cool, calm and collected, standing tall and even stonewalling a penalty shot in the finals! Our team could not have done this without all the support and cheering from teammate Donovan Sewell, who was unable to attend our tournament, as well as all the parents and loved ones, who both attended and supported on the live feeds. Stellar coaching by Head Coach Andrew Wardell, and Assistant coaches Kevin Manchester, and David Wilson lead to a very well rounded team of individuals who played no less than a top-notch weekend full of games.

Keep up the great work Phoenix and lets bring this energy into the remainder of our season!
